Be Bold Enough To BE

Inspiration! Oh, I LOVE inspiration! Today I had a beautiful conversation with my sweet friend, Amanda. I reached out to her for prayer and she immediately responded with encouragement, hope and obedience.  She heard my heart and then took the time to pray and seek God for guidance before responding back to me....thankfully she did this and allowed the Holy Spirit to work in her heart before saying anything.  She was obedient to what He had spoken to her and I'm SO thankful she was.

In summary, she said she felt that God needed me to just "BE".  She said that she felt like I needed to stop trying so hard....stop trying to please God and others so much and just be me!  I knew something was going on inside of me but I didn't know what exactly and this just totally opened my eyes to what I was feeling.  I didn't even realize that THIS was my issue......THIS is why I was feeling so...... so lost.....

You see, we don't have to work hard to please Him.  He leads us and opens doors for us to use our gifts.  We don't have to try and impress Him or prove to Him that we are worthy.  For that matter, we don't have to prove this to anybody else either.  He has equipped us and He has already ordered our steps.  We don't have to try so hard to impress.  We are His precious gifts!

Today I chose to take a break from social media.  I need to just BE.  I need to find myself SO lost in Him that I don't feel the need to please.  This past year has backed me into a corner of self-doubt, pain, disappointment and confusion.  My heart hurts and at times I feel so lost and unsure.  I can choose to stay in this dark place of loss and self-pity or I can allow God to help me to rise above all of the pain and disappointment.

If you are going through a time of feeling lost, you aren't alone!  I'm not alone.  We have one another but more importantly, we have a God who is ALWAYS walking with us.  He sees us and knows us by name.  I challenge you today to just BE! BE BOLD enough to just BE who YOU are!!!  Who GOD created!  Be bold enough to not feel the need to please but to be confident in who you are!

Thank you Amanda for your encouragement! I needed that message today!

A Prayer For Wives

This morning I was in the Word and spending time with God and as I was praying for my husband I just felt a heaviness on me. The burden in my heart caused me to intercede for wives in this generation. The world tries to teach us that even in marriage, we as women are "independent" and "have our own mind". These things are true but the world twists it and causes many women to lose respect and honor in their husband and marriage. I wanted to share some things to pray for if you are a woman striving to be the best Godly wife you possibly can be! You are called to be a loving and kind wife who prepares her home for her family! It's in each of us and we can only do it with Him.

Dear Lord,

Give me a heart that views my husband the way you view Him. Give me your heart for him and teach me how to respect and honor him, especially during the times he has failed me or our marriage.

Help me to be an honoring wife that you are proud of. I desire for you to look at me and smile because you know that I am loving your son with the best heart and with a heart that lives for you and only you.

Help me to place my husbands needs, dreams and desires above my own. Help me to let go of resentment when things do not go my way and to trust that decisions are based on the family as a whole and not just me or not just him. Help me to speak up with love and respect when I need to and to stay quiet when I need to.

Help me to take care of our home and run it well. Help me to strive everyday to make our home a place of peace, joy and comfort. Let our home be the one place that my husband feels safe in.

Help me to keep myself healthy and strong for my husband. Help me to desire to look nice for him and to dress modest around others. I never want to leave my husband questioning whose attention I am trying to capture when I walk out the door, so give me discernment on items of clothing that are not pleasing to you Father.

Help me to speak wisely and kind at home, outside of the home, to others and about others. Give me a gentle heart that flows through my tongue and always speaks love and encouragement. Guide me to have a speech that always exhibits who you are in me. Help me to live out Ephesians 4:32 daily dear Lord.

Thank you for the gift of marriage and for allowing me to be the wife of your amazing son.

In Jesus Name,

Amen

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

Where Does Your Validation Come From?

"If you have an argument with your neighbor, don't tell other people what was said.  Whoever hears it might shame you, and you might not ever be respected again."  Proverbs 25:10

Wow, talk about conviction for me this morning.  Last night I had some girlfriends over and I innocently told them about an encouter I had with another woman.  It was one where I felt she had done something that was not very nice and I haven't been able to release it.  I was explaining to my friends that I was having a hard time with forgiveness.  Well, instead of just leaving it at that, I needed to get validation from them that it was ok for me to be upset and unforgiving.  Not only was I carrying bitterness towards this other lady but NOW I just added more to that sin.

I am learning more and more that asking for prayer is GREAT!  It shows that we trust our brothers and sisters in Christ.  However, we need to make sure we are speaking of only our sin and not going into the problem and stumble into gossiping.  We don't need validation from others that it's "ok" to be upset.  Our validation comes from the Lord and He will give us peace and He will make all things right and good.  When we seek that validation from others, sin follows.  But when we seek that validation from our Father, healing and grace follows.

Summer Catch Up

I'm super excited for my periodic catch up!

It has been an awesome past few months of newly wed bliss, friendship, Church, Ministry, writing, and family!

My girlfriends and I have been able to spend lots of time together over the past few months and that's amazing in itself.  We went through a season of business and ALL of us gals were always super busy, so it's been nice to enjoy time and fellowship with one another this summer.

"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

Ministry has been so much fun since my promotion!  It is a lot different from my position as Generation's assistant. It has been so much fun learning and growing!  I have truly enjoyed working at the Church in both admin assistant position and now in my Life Group Coordinator position.  God has truly blessed me!!!

National Pink day was in June and of course, I participated!!!  Everybody knows how much I LOVE LOVE pink!!!!

It's no secret that summer is not generally my favorite season; however, I have to admit that summer nights with family and friends are always awesome!

Bowling night with the fam happened only once this summer but that's ok....it was a great night!

Family visits in the summer are always a blast!!!

And of course who can forget lazy cat days!

Summer is also a season of fun holidays!

I celebrated my first Father's Day with my new father-in-law.  It was really neat to plan a father's day lunch with my new family!  We also meshed up with my dad and took him to his favorite thing to do in the world, GOLF!

and YES, that is my adorable sweet nephew above!  CUTENESS!

4th Of July is one of my other favorite summer holidays!  This year Darin and I hosted at our tiny apartment and it was SO MUCH FUN!!!!  We had family and friends over and meshed families!  Talk about fun!

And who can forget summer weddings??  My Mom's best friend from her younger days got married to the love of her life this summer and it was such a beautiful day!

Summer loving is always so much fun and so are dates to the library with the hubby!

To conclude our awesome first summer as a married couple, we moved into our beautiful new home!!!  We have had so much fun unpacking and shopping for new furniture and just starting our lives together in a spacious beautiful home!  I cannot wait to dress our home up in FALL AND WINTER ( MY FAVORITE SEASONS) WOOHOO!

Needless to say, marriage has been so good to me!  I have had so much fun as a newly wed and I have the most amazing husband, I have no idea what I did to deserve Darin!  I'm so excited for fall and all of our fall and winter adventures!!!
